9/1/2023 0 Comments Boxer puppy in paPlease note: This is a courtesy posting for a private adoption. He is a healthy fella and he loves lots of cooked veggies, yogurt and diverse food as well as his usual treats and dog food. Thanks for considering this love bug Jack has all his shots and is on flea and tick meds and heartworm meds. Jack with you best with children over eight years old. We will be looking for an experienced loving home for Jack and vet references and a meet and greet will be important to find his best match. He’d love to snuggle in bed but we have boundaries on that too. Jack loves couch time but we are keeping boundaries on this. But if you are looking for a walking buddy and a book nerd buddy and a couch potato – Jack is for you. If you are looking for a running buddy – jack is NOT for you. Jack is a strong boy but also kind of lazy boy – he does about 2-3 mile walks but the heat he is a great dog to take a book along and walk him and then take a rest in the shade where he loves to roll and read a few pages of a book. We think Jack will do well with other dogs and we are working in more doggy dates but he has met a few other foster dogs and done well. He does not tend to jump up unless a visitor is overly excited but we always just ask visitors to ignore him and then he remains calm and on all fours. Jack is very good with new visitors and he has met about 30 different people while in foster care. Other great things about this marshmallow love bug Jack: 100% potty trained Jack is treat oriented which makes him very easy to train – he knows quite a few commands - on your place, stay, sit, paw, down, and fetch are all in his vocabulary. He also travels often with cats and does well with cats who are family but that are also foster cats who come and go – he has had a few months getting to know new kitties as they come and then get adopted. He travels well and is a good boy who sits in his seat belt. He has spent a lot of time in two different places with his foster family who visits elders - so he has had rural life where he gets to zip around the yard doing zoomies and playing catch with a frisbie as well as city life in Upper Darby where he is more on lead and sidewalk walking - Jack flourishes in both settings and is quite adaptable to his humans needs of traveling. Jack is thriving in his foster home with cats and two very different households. He would be a great running partner! He would do best with a family that has another dog and a large 6 ft fenced in yard. He does not have a mean bone in his body. He has no issues laying on top of you for love and passing out. Horace is still learning about personal space. His foster mom calls him her little horse. He weighs 75 lbs, but looking at him you might think he weighs close to 100. He loves children but might knock them over accidentally. He loves playing catch and wrestling with his favorite girl dog Zoe. He came out of his shell quickly in his foster home due to the other dogs in the home. Horace would do best in a home with another dog. He is VERY dog friendly and lives with three other dogs currently. Horace is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. He will test positive for the rest of his life, but shows no illness from the disease. He was on antibiotics for a month, and his protein in his urine is perfect. He had a bad ear infection, scabby painful ears from horse flies and sadly tested positive for lyme. Meet 1 1/2 year old Horace! Horace was rescued from a mennonite farm when the owners no longer wanted him.
